Trash and Recycling

Trash is picked up by Casella Waste Systems on Tuesdays.  Special Casella trash bags are needed, and placed in the Casella trash containers.

Recycling is picked up every other Tuesday according to the schedule for the street you live on. Recycling is “Zero Sort” and placed into the Casella recycling containers.  The open end is put toward the street.

Any questions regarding the schedule and any possible changes due to holidays should be directed to Casella at 315-268-6341.

What does “placed at curbside” mean? Can I put trash/recycling containers in the street next to the curb?

No. Trash/recycling containers cannot be placed on the actual street surface.  In the Village Code, “curbside” means: The area of the public right-of-way between the sidewalk and the edge of the paved driving surface of a public street. If there is no sidewalk, it is the area between the edge of the right-of-way and the paved driving surface of a public street.
