Potsdam Fire Department

The Potsdam Fire Department is a committed and reliable pillar of the Potsdam community, serving the public since 1857. The department diligently prepares for and responds to a wide range of emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and visitors. This commitment to excellence is evident in their recently held annual election of officers for 2023-2024, which includes Timothy L. Jerome as Chief and Mark F. Bradish as 1st Assistant Chief, among others.

In 2023, the department made strides in maintaining state-of-the-art readiness, purchasing five new air packs to replace their 20-year-old equipment, symbolizing their dedication to staying up-to-date with modern firefighting technology and practices. The Potsdam Fire Department’s efforts have led to a steady increase in the number of incidents handled each year, rising to 620 in 2022. Their unwavering dedication to service is a testament to their long-standing tradition of protecting the community.
