Hours and Location
The Village Offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and are located at 2 Park Street – Civic Center, Potsdam, NY 13676.
Rubbish Pickup and Bags
15- and 30-gallon rubbish bags are available in the Cashier’s office at the Village Offices, or you can get them at: Potsdam IGA (27 Elm St.), Kinney Drugs (48 Maple St. and 200 Market St.), Save-A-Lot (200 Market St.), Evans & White (1 Maple St.), Casella Office (147 Maple St.), or the Casella Transfer Station (472 W. Birth Certificate Information
You can get a copy of your birth certificate in-person at our office, or by mailing us an application. Please note: you can only get your birth certificate from us if you were born in the Village of Potsdam. If you were born somewhere else, you must contact the municipality where you were born to obtain a birth certificate.
Starting a Business
Get local planning, zoning, and economic development with the Planning and Development Office. Whatever support your start-up requires, from real estate to financing, from technical to zoning, we’re here to help.
Economic development efforts are supported by both the Potsdam and St. Lawrence County Chambers of Commerce which sponsor a wide range of promotional and educational programs for its members and the community.

Payment Information
You can make payments for parking tickets, water, sewer, or tax payments online, or in-person at the Village Offices. Outside of business hours, you may drop your payment into the locked drop-box affixed to the inner doors of the municipal offices.

Parks and Locations
There are five parks nearby. You can find more information about each of them on their individual pages. They are: Sandstoner, Lehman, Ives, Garner, and Fall Island.
Village Board Meetings
Village Board meetings are generally held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. Regular meetings will begin at 6:00 p.m. except during the months of May, June, July & August which will begin at 4:30 p.m.
