Duties:

The Planning Board reviews and acts on applications such as site plan, subdivision, special use. The Planning Board also reviews and makes recommendations to other Boards such as the Village Board on issues such as the Comprehensive Plan and parcel re-zoning.

  1. Regular monthly meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month, at 7:00 P.M., in the Civic Center Board Room, Potsdam, New York, except during the months of November through March, when one meeting per month is conducted on the first Thursday of each month.
  2. Public Hearings and Special Meetings are scheduled when necessary.
  3. Members are appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees.
  4. An Oath of Office is required.
  5. The term for an appointment is for a five-year term, unless the appointment is made to fill the unexpired term of another person who resigned.

  • Use this form to apply for a special use from the Planning Board. Usually the Code Enforcement Officer will refer you to this application.
  • $50 application fee.
